Victor Osimhen became the most expensive transfer in Turkish football history on Sunday when he completed his move from Napoli to Galatasaray, according to reports that say it is worth €75 million ($88 million).
The fee structure is £60million with an additional payment of over £5m in bonuses, divided into fixed payments (£70million) and variable ones (up to five million euros).
The 26-year-old Nigerian striker will sign for the Galatasaray with a four-year contract and his annual salary, protecting net 15 million euros as well worth sponsoring per year from n transfer to Turkey.
Osimhen comes back to the Turkish title holders after enjoying a very impressive loan period during 2024–25.
While out on loan, the Nigerian struck 37 goals and provided seven assists in 41 games to inspire Galatasaray to both Super Lig and Turkish Cup success.
Not only did his form on the pitch endear him to supporters, but it also made him their main attacking target for the club as we entered a new season.
The Nigerian did not take up the offer of a more lucrative proposal from Saudi Pro League outfit Al Hilal and was beset by strong interest across Europe, but chose to stay in Istanbul.
He chose Galatasaray because of their ambition, hunger for success and domestic experiences.
The swift action is likely to be seen as a powerful sign of intent by Galatasaray, who are desperate to bolster their squad further and erase any doubts whether they can compete for European honours.
